Had a discussion with friends last week, All of them were well-to-do. One of them was very angry with us. He mocked us saying we were all slaves. "Slaves", we all protested. "yes, slaves, slaves of consumption. You are earning money and then spending it in equal measure. Even if you save some, you again spend it on something frivolous. We pondered for a while and asked for a solution. He said, "Next week."
